What's so great about the new GRE-O-Matic anyway?

If you haven't switched over to the new GRE-O-Matic yet, here are a few reasons to do so:

1. Just like the blog version, you can post a comment after every single entry.
2. In addition to posting, you can join a discussion on the discussion board.
3. Everything you loved about the GRE-O-Matic blog version is available in a new, easy-to-use Web site format, i.e. you can click on the weeks and find them all easily instead of searching through old posts.
4. It's very pretty.
5. It's full of great new links.
6. Did I mention it's pretty?

Can't spell great without GRE (Study schedule - revised)

Ready to study? Rather than take it all on in one week, or cram the night before, try a study schedule.

Every week should include practice on analogies, antonyms and sentence completion, since all of that goes along with vocab.
For the math portion of the test, weeks 1-4 focus on quantitative math problems, weeks 5-8 focus on problem solving and weeks 9-12 focus on chart problems.
Reading comprehension will be honed in weeks 1-6; the essay gets attention in weeks 6-12.

Smart people find sites helpful for studying for the GREs.
I'm smart. Here's what I found:

These are sites I found by Googling "GRE." They may not be great, they may be fantastic. There are many more out there. Those are just the first few that popped up that made it into my notebook. If you have others you think would be helpful, feel free to post them.

Also, a note about GRE study books:

Rob prefers Princeton Review books; I prefer Barron's. I'm not saying either is really great. Choose your own book. We don't follow a book here on GRE-O-Matic 1600. We've made our own schedule, so if you have chosen a book to help you, you can still use the GRE-O-Matic 1600, too.

Welcome to GRE-O-Matic 1600 (Intro)

For those of you upgrading from GRE-O-Matic 2.1, welcome!
For those of you new to GRE-O-Matic, welcome as well!

I'm like you, a student studying for the GRE, getting ready to apply for graduate school, drinking way too much coffee and hoping it's all a recipe for a 1600 as my combined math and verbal scores, along with a 6 on my essays. I was previously posting on another blog (and blog site) mixed with my personal bloggy kind of things, but I thought the GRE-O-Matic deserved its own spot.

Here's the plan:
Rob "Master of the GRE" and I formulated at plan to study for the GRE over 13 weeks. We divvied up the vocabulary over that time and also assigned various chunks of time to the different sections of the GRE. Here, I will publish sites I've found on the great big old World Wide Web of Doom, any tips I have, any problems I see, any study questions or clues I discover and two (or more) daily vocabulary words. You are welcome to do the same. I'd love to see everybody posting vocab words or tips or thoughts or clues or practice problems.

I want this to be a place where we can all study and commiserate about the GRE - together - as the GRE-O-Matic 2.1 would have us do if it were still with us...

And remember the GRE-O-Matic 1600 motto:
1600 or bust!
